Mechanical Inspector
• Target Start- 11-July-22
• Duration- 1 year
• Location- Houston, TX transition to Orla, TX Q3 2022
• Schedule- 5×10’s Houston, 6×10’s Orla
• Status- Non-exempt, fulltime, W2
**All Hours Over Standard 40/Week Paid at Time-and-a-Half
• Per Diem- Y; once mobilized to Orla or if requirements are met in Houston location
• Mob/Demob- Y; once mobilized to Orla or if requirements are met in Houston location
• Vehicle Allowance- Y; once mobilized to Orla. While based out of Houston, employee will receive mileage reimbursement when travelling to Vendor Shops
• R&R- Y; once mobilized to Orla

Desired Qualifications:
• Seven (7) years of industrial construction experience with a minimum of five (5) years inspection/supervisory management experience
• API 1169 Certification
• Lead Inspectors shall be designated by BPX with the expectation that they are a minimum NACE CIP-1 and AWS CWI accredited
• Advanced knowledge of codes and standards including API 1104, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.8, NACE, and SSPC
• Knowledge of API 1161
• NCCER Enhanced Pipeline Program Certification

Specific Accountabilities:
• Exercise Stop Work Authority if unsafe work conditions exist
• Conduct as well as attend Safety Meetings
• Exercise and promote a positive safety environment
• Effectively communicate Client HSSE expectations to Contractors and Vendors
• Balance Construction Execution with Project Inspection to ensure maximum performance
• Successfully build and maintain key relationships
• Interface with Inspectors, Contractor and Client Operations
• Ensure Project Documentation Job Books follow Client protocol and are in order
• Perform Project Documentation Audits
• Possess technological skills such as operating a computer, sending/receiving emails, scan, and print documents
• Be able to work in Microsoft Word, and Excel; and work in PDF modification programs such as Bluebeam or Adobe
• Must exhibit ability to read and interpret P&ID’s, and ISO’s
• Ability to make field decisions that do not require Engineering input or approval
• Maintain open and honest communicate with Contractors and Vendors- be proactive
• Be proactive when communicating with Contractors and Vendors
• Obtain and maintain Client required Operator Qualifications
• Work closely with Construction Manager and Project Controls Team to ensure accurate tracking of field progress
• Assist Construction Manager with compiling data for Weekly Report

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Essential Job Functions:
Job duties will vary depending upon the circumstances of each individual project and the needs and requirements of the Client, including the Client’s Project Manager. Employee is required to comply with the Client’s operational requirements which vary from project to project. Employee should be prepared and able to perform the following job duties, although the specific duties required for each project will depend on the Employee’s supervisor and the particular needs of the client and project depending upon the location, geographic and weather conditions and client requirements:

Ability to Travel to Worksite as Follows:
• Must have valid drivers’ license
• Must be physically able to travel by automobile to Client site in other states or within Texas
• Must be physically able to drive an automobile and have reliable transportation
• Must have the ability to be physically present to work onsite at Client location on a daily basis and to work away from home for extended periods of time
• Must have the ability to work independently without supervision in order to perform job duties listed in this Job Description
• Must have the ability to manage time effectively in order to accomplish job tasks in an organized and efficient manner and within deadlines set by client

Other Job Functions:
• Perform duties as designated by the Construction Manager, QAQC Manager, and Project Manager in accordance with the job requirements outlined in the assigned activity.
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times, including attire and grooming, in order to maintain Client image and increase the effectiveness of your inspection and communication efforts. This includes no untucked shirt tails or pants tucked in boots.
