Advanced Turnaround Planning
The Advanced Turnaround Planning Course is designed for individuals to utilize experience gained in the field of turnaround project controls for personal growth. Students will gain a thorough understanding of how successful turnaround planning and processes are established and executed from conception to closeout.
Basic Turnaround Planning
The Basic Planning course was created to give you the basic tools and information needed to create a detailed planner package and explain the importance of the role. During the (3) day course we will cover the importance of a “detailed” planner package, roles & responsibilities of a planner, change management for planners, and planner’s impact on the schedule. These topics will successfully prepare you for your upcoming challenge as a Turnaround or Maintenance Planner.
Introduction to Planning
The Introduction to Planning course is designed for people that have never been exposed to the planning process. Setting up the base to become a quality planner is our goal, so this class is perfect for those looking to move into the planning field. You will leave this one-day class with the understanding that the core part of all cost and schedule is derived from a planner. Understanding the complexities with solutions, with a goal to provide quality education, is our commitment to every student.
P6 Engineering Schedule Development
The P6 Engineering Schedule Development course will teach the student how to develop the engineering deliverable schedule utilizing a cross between newly added activities and templates to construct a FEED schedule from Early Engineering to Detail Design. The schedule with be developed utilizing a package deliverable process consisting of IFD, IFA and IFC drawing types. Along with the engineering deliverable, we will identify fabricated and purchased material that a typical Engineering firm may be responsible for to a client company. At the completion of this class all users will have a good understanding of the critical components of a quality engineering schedule and management of each deliverable.
P6 Construction & Commissioning Schedule Development
Highly detailed construction schedules are typically developed with an end in mind. From a construction company’s perspective this is ok, as they come in, build, and then demobilize. The quality of that schedule lies in the level of detail, along with the accuracy in logical relationship based on actual construction. However, a major piece most places tend to miss or leave out is the complexities behind integrating the construction schedule with startup and commission schedules. In this class we focus not only on the construction plan and how we will deploy the project, but also work with operations to have a clear path on system turnover and startup sequence.
P6 FEL Scheduling Development
This Basic Client FEL Process course is designed for individuals that have taken the P6 Lite class or have had some light scheduling experience. Students will gain a thorough understanding of the Front-End Loading process, and learn how to develop and maintain the FEL schedule. This course shows you the required needs for the FEL process, with hands-on training in the P6 application. You will walk away with a good comprehension of how the FEL process is broken down into several phases, going through each gate approval in which the project is sanctioned or discarded.
P6 Application Administrator
Having Primavera PPM and EPPM, cloud vs remote database installations can be very confusing especially at the fast pace Oracle is releasing new builds. This admin class will walk you through the settings, profiles, security along with management of the P6 application. In this class we will show you what a quality environment looks like and compare this to what is typical in the industry. Setting up and managing a P6 application so incorrect data is easily spotted is a plus for all admins today. We will walk you through all admin functionality, share every trick to the trade, and make you the next P6 administrator.
P6 Management Expectations
No matter if it is a capital project or turnaround, we build schedules for both, even integrating them together. However, what are a manager’s expectations? To clear up the uncertainty of having a schedule or not having a schedule, along with what it takes to build a quality schedule, is a core topic for all management to participate in. You should understand the tricks a scheduler may use and questions a manager should ask to get directly to the “pinch points” of the schedule file he / she is developing. In the completion of this one-day course you will find out what it really takes to build and manage a schedule in turnarounds and capital environments along with all reporting a typical scheduler should produce or feed to other groups to aide in their reporting process.
Introduction to P6 Scheduling
This Introduction to P6 scheduling course is designed for individuals that have no scheduling experience. Students will gain an understanding of how to navigate in Primavera P6, and utilize key functions required in the basic class. You will walk away with good base knowledge of how to build a WBS, tie logic, and schedule a project.
P6 Basic Turnaround Scheduling
This Basic Turnaround Scheduling course is designed for individuals that have no Turnaround experience utilizing the P6 application. Students will gain a thorough understanding of how to build schedules required to meet today’s turnaround industry. You will apply hands-on training in the P6 software with real time turnaround schedulers guiding you through the process. You will walk away with a good comprehension of how the process is broken down into individual components, culminating into a resource loaded execution schedule.
P6 Advanced Turnaround Scheduling
This advanced Primavera P6 training course is designed to provide current Primavera users an in-depth look at advanced P6 functionality. It provides a broader perspective on advanced topics such as activity calculation settings, cost accounts, import/export, resource and expense item cost functionality, resource leveling, advanced scheduling concepts, user defined fields, global change, updating baselines, and using reflection projects.
P6 Scheduling for Operations
The operations group in today’s industry are the critical component that is solely responsible for turning the unit or by system. After outside battery limit blinding has been complete, and operations start decommissioning the systems, only then can maintenance work begin. It is imperative schedulers develop this shutdown sequence due to the duration of time it will take to turn the systems back over for startup. Even though everything may be turned over at a single point in time, this class will guide you through the system’s critical path process and start up sequence.
Basic Turnaround Cost
This Basic Turnaround Cost training course is designed for individuals that do not have any turnaround Cost Management experience. This course will give you the basic understanding of the Cost Professional’s roles and responsibilities during a Turnaround. This course will be a hybrid of lectures and hands-on activities.
Advanced Turnaround Cost
This Advanced Turnaround Cost training course is designed for individuals that have some hands-on experience in Turnaround Cost Management. This course will give you the thorough understanding of the Cost Professional’s roles and responsibilities during a Turnaround. This two-day course will be a hybrid of lectures and hands-on activities.
Introduction to Cost
This Introduction to Cost training course is designed for individuals that do not have any Cost Management experience. This course will give you a basic understanding of the fundamentals of Cost Management using material that is easily relatable without having industry experience. It will also introduce the difference between Turnarounds and Capital Projects. This course will be a hybrid of lectures and hands-on activities.
Turnaround Cost Development Utilizing P6
Turnaround costs distribution seem to be a hidden secret on how to develop or it’s just never developed. In this session, we will show you how to develop your budgeted cost that we be in alignment with your schedule, thus giving you a base for cost tracking. We see so many companies start building and time distributing cost curves based on what they think should happen utilizing applications that are not developed for cost distribution down to the day or shift. As the schedule is developed, we see cost controllers “out of the loop” and typically the last person to understand how cost should be allocated.
Acumen Schedule Quality
This Acumen Schedule Quality course will teach students how to utilize the Acumen application in order to do a good schedule diagnostics and produce quality metrics. You will walk away with a good comprehension of the schedule assessment process utilizing the Acumen application.
Acumen Risk Management
This Acumen Risk course will teach students how to utilize the Acumen application in order to prepare, model, risk assess, mitigate, and produce risk outputs. You will walk away with a good comprehension of the schedule / cost risk assessment process utilizing the Acumen application.
Tar BI Reporting
Reporting in a single application can be very difficult and even more, it can be constrained by the amount or type of data you store in different applications. Microsoft has given us flexibility and made reporting affordable to everyone with Power BI. Gather data from your applications or connect your dashboard straight to your data sources for your next turnaround. In this class we will look at how to set-up a reporting methodology and deploy a custom dashboard created specifically for your turnaround team. Get rid of the complexities of dealing with multiple Excel reporting sheets and learn how to provide visibility to your next turnaround through Power BI. This course builds on the techniques developed from previous Tepco courses and provides a capstone allowing you to communicate project controls concepts effectively to your team.

TEPCO Solutions training laptops are pre-configured with course materials and can be pre-shipped or brought with by the TEPCO Solutions trainer
Training can be conducted at your facility, or an external conference room can be rented, typically at a hotel
Live Online Instructor-Led Training
TEPCO Solutions offers live online training for those who cannot attend in person. Our classes, both online and in-house, are taught by seasoned end users with real-world knowledge and experience. This ensures that we provide the best up to date practical application use lead by instructors that truly know the tool, and where the concerns will be. Our classes are always fully interactive, giving the student the ability to not only work in a live environment but also get immediate help with questions or issues. Students can also see each other’s problems as the class evolves, giving everyone the ability to learn from other students in the class.
